Welcome to ROCBATTLE ("ROCBATTLE," "we," "us"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of rocbattle.com and everything on it, including battles, voting, beat uploads, profiles and the community (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Beta service
ROCBATTLE 5.0 is in beta. Features may change, be added or be removed, and you may run into bugs, downtime or lost data. The Service is provided as-is during beta. Please report problems to support@rocbattle.com.
2. Who can use ROCBATTLE
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- Cash battles, tournaments with cash prizes and any paid features may require you to be 18 or older and to verify your identity.
- You may not use the Service if we have previously suspended or banned your account.
3. Your account
- One person, one account. Creating or controlling multiple accounts (for example, to vote for yourself or to get extra credits) is not allowed.
- Give accurate information and keep your email address current so we can reach you.
- Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You choose an account type (Producer, Artist or Fan). Some features, like battling and uploading beats, are only available to Producer accounts.
4. Your beats and other content
You own what you upload. ROCBATTLE does not take ownership of your beats, images or other content ("Your Content").
So that we can run the Service, you give ROCBATTLE a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, stream, display and share Your Content on and through the Service. This includes using it in battles and showing it on your profile. It also includes featuring it to promote ROCBATTLE, for example in a "battle of the week" post. This license ends when you remove the content, except:
- beats that were part of a battle may remain part of that battle's public record and history; and
- we may keep backup copies for a reasonable time, or as needed for legal reasons.
By uploading, you confirm that:
- you created the content or have all the rights needed to upload it and grant the license above;
- any samples, loops or other material in it are cleared or used with permission; and
- it follows the rules of any battle you enter, including that battle's AI policy.
5. Battles, voting and fair play
- Each eligible account may vote once per battle. You can't vote in your own battle.
- Vote manipulation is prohibited. This includes extra accounts, bots, paying for votes, vote trading and coordinated voting rings.
- We may remove or discount suspicious votes, void or re-run battles, adjust ratings and rankings, and take action against the accounts involved.
- Battle results, ratings and rankings are determined by the Service's rules, which may change as the platform grows.
- Additional rules for a specific battle, tournament or league are part of these Terms.
6. Credits
Battle credits are earned by taking part in the Service, for example by voting. Credits have no cash value. They can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and they may expire or reset, for example monthly. We may change how credits are earned and used.
7. Tournaments, cash battles and prizes
Tournaments, cash battles and any other prize events will have their own official rules. Those rules cover eligibility, how to enter, judging, prize amounts and how prizes are paid. Those rules apply in addition to these Terms. Winners may need to verify their identity and provide payment or tax information before a prize is paid. Prizes are void where prohibited by law.
8. What's not allowed
- Uploading content you don't have the rights to, or infringing anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or sexually explicit or violent content aimed at others.
- Impersonating someone else, including other producers, artists or ROCBATTLE staff.
- Spam, scams, or unauthorized advertising.
- Hacking, scraping, overloading or interfering with the Service, or getting around its security or limits.
- Using the Service for anything illegal.
9. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on ROCBATTLE infringes your copyright, email support@rocbattle.com with:
- your contact information;
- a description of the work;
- a link to the content; and
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized and that your notice is accurate.
We will review it and may remove the content. Repeat infringers' accounts will be terminated.
10. ROCBATTLE's name and brand
The ROCBATTLE name, logos and site design belong to ROCBATTLE. You may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without our written permission.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access, remove content, or reset ratings, credits or results if we believe you have broken these Terms or put the Service or other members at risk.
12. Third-party services
The Service relies on outside providers, such as cloud storage for uploads. The Service may also link to other websites, such as members' social profiles. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that content will never be lost, or that any battle, ranking or opportunity will lead to any particular result.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, ROCBATTLE and its owners, staff and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. They are also not liable for lost data, profits or opportunities arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.
15. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold ROCBATTLE harmless from claims arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breaking of these Terms.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If the changes are significant, we will let members know on the site or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
