This Privacy Policy explains what information ROCBATTLE ("we," "us") collects when you use rocbattle.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We don't sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: display name, username, email address, account type (Producer, Artist or Fan) and password. Passwords are stored encrypted; we can't see them.
- Profile details (producers): bio, location, DAW, genres, social links, profile picture and banner.
- Uploads: beats you upload and their details (title, genre, BPM), and the images you add.
- Launch list sign-ups: first name, email address and what you're interested in (producer, artist, fan, industry).
- Messages to us: anything you send to support@rocbattle.com.
Information created as you use the Service
- Activity: battles you create or join, votes you cast, producers you follow, and your ratings, records and rankings.
- Technical information: your IP address, collected when you join the launch list or log in, along with the time of your last login. Our servers also keep standard logs (such as browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies: a small number of essential cookies that keep you logged in and protect forms. See our Cookie Policy.
2. How we use it
- To run the Service: your account, profile, battles, voting, rankings, beat library and playback.
- To send account emails, such as email verification, password resets and important notices about your account or the Service.
- To send launch and community announcements to people who joined the launch list or have an account. You can opt out at any time.
- To keep the Service fair and safe: preventing duplicate accounts, vote manipulation, fraud and abuse.
- To understand and improve the Service, and to fix bugs.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
3. What other people can see
- Public: your display name, username and account type.
- Public, for producers: your profile, the beats you choose to show on it, your battles and their results, and your ratings and rankings. Producers can make their profile private.
- Public, for beats in a public battle: those beats can be played by anyone.
- Kept private: your email address and password are never shown publicly. Who you voted for is not shown publicly; ROCBATTLE staff can see votes to keep battles fair.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Service providers that host and support the Service for us, such as our web host and Amazon Web Services, which stores uploaded beats. They may only use the information to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of ROCBATTLE, our members or others.
- Business changes: if ROCBATTLE is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of it. This Policy would continue to apply.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time. We may keep some records longer where needed: battle results that include other members, records required by law, records needed to resolve disputes, and short-term backups.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, and private storage for beats that aren't public. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
7. Your choices and rights
- Update your email and password in Account Settings. Producers can update their profile in Edit Profile.
- Choose which of your beats appear on your public profile.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by emailing support@rocbattle.com.
- Unsubscribe from announcement emails at any time. Account emails, such as password resets, are still sent.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We'll honor requests as the law requires.
8. Children
ROCBATTLE is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If the changes are significant, we'll let members know on the site or by email.
