yea i used to be really into scott storch so i seen that video before. . . but if u listen closely u can tell that he's just replaying that beat on the keyboard. . . not necessarily the way he originally produced it. . . just like how he played "just a lil bit" with strings. . .
the strings in lean back sound TOO real to be played on a keyboard, especially the pitch bends sound natural, like people where actually playing it. . .

Maybe it has do with the sounds being recorded by a video camera instead of an ssl? And btw, Storch plays all 3 songs with the same preset. No wonder they are not 100% identica. Also, check the booklet of True Story (TerrorSquad cd the track was on), it doesnt state any samples while other songs do. Sooo...its played

oh u saw te booklet ?
i havnt seen that yet. .. . . if it doesnt say then i geuss it was played out. . .
i think using the pitch weel with strings makes bends sound fake, he probably didnt use the pitch weel when he made it. . .
naw the just a lil bit flute sounds like he played it on the keyboard. . .except for the little string/flute riff that comes in every time the chorus starts

On the 50 cent cd curtis in the book it dont say nothing about the song "ayo technoligy" (produced by timbaland) being sampled...but INDEED it was...and he got sued for it lmao...
So...i wouldnt put it pass scot having sampled...oh and...still dre was sampled...and he said "oh i did that"...like it wasnt sampled...so i DEFINENTALLY wouldnt be suprised if it was sampled...cause just like in ayo technoligy in the "Dre 2001" album it says nothing about the hit "still dre: being sampled either so...
Who knows...ALOT and i mean ALOOOOT of shit is sampled and people dont know.

naw, was scott storch just playing around on the keys & stumbled upon the riff
though of course whenever we make tracks we subconciously draw from music we have heard before or atleast should always try to make sure we didn't accidently perform an interpolation of something we have heard,, but who know for sure other than storch i guess

The riff is only like 2 chords or something. And you can't copyright a chord progression unless there's something melodic about it and you copy its exact rhythm etc.
There's a YouTube tutorial where Still D.R.E. is replicated, and it's just simple chords with a certain playing motion (playing lazy, basically).
This song may have been inspiration but I doubt it... :o
